#30 - Knotted Physio - The Hardest Part of Getting Healthy

Hello Everyone and welcome back! As always, a BIG thank you to everyone who takes the time to read our blog. We really do appreciate it!

So, what is the hardest part of getting healthy?

Getting started.

I know... not exactly a shocking answer. But think about it. Most of us already know what we should be doing. Eat a little better. Move more. Get some sleep. Exercise. Drink more water.

So why is it so hard?

I think we make it harder than it needs to be.

We decide that Monday is the day everything changes. We are going to exercise 5 days a week, completely change our diet, walk every morning, and never eat another piece of cake again!

Then life happens.

Monday becomes Tuesday. Tuesday becomes next week. Before we know it, we're back where we started.

Instead of trying to change everything at once, start with one small thing.

Maybe it's walking for 10 minutes each day. Maybe it's doing a few exercises while you're watching TV. Maybe it's simply getting outside more often.

It doesn't have to be perfect.

In fact, I would much rather see someone walk for 10 minutes every day than exercise for an hour once and then do nothing for two weeks.

And here's something I've noticed over the years...

Motivation usually comes AFTER you start, not before.

You don't always feel like going for that walk. You don't always feel like exercising. But once you get moving, you usually feel a little better about it.

And that small win makes it easier to do again tomorrow.

Getting healthy isn't about becoming a completely different person overnight. It's about making small changes that eventually become part of your normal routine.

And please don't compare yourself to everyone else. Your starting point is your starting point.

Maybe you used to hike 10 miles and now you're struggling with 2. That's okay. Start with 2. Build from there.

The goal isn't just to "get healthy."

The goal is to be able to do the things you enjoy — hiking, fishing, gardening, traveling, playing with the grandkids, or whatever gets you outside and moving.

So if you've been putting off getting started, don't wait for Monday.

Start small. Start today.

Well guys, I hope this helps someone take that first step. As always, thanks for reading and Go enjoy the outdoors!
